On behalf everyone involved with the DCG Committee we sincerely hope that our golfing friends and their loved ones are staying healthy through this awful pandemic. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to anyone who has been affected and to the Carers and Medical staff who continue to carry the heavy and relentless burden of this horrible virus.
It certainly puts a golfing disappointment into context !
We on the committee are obviously not exactly sure where we at in relation to the resumption of our Golfing lives. If anyone can offer an insight on this please do. In the meantime the Committee remain optimistic that we can run our 2020 Matchplay events and to this end we publish the draws with the originally envisaged deadline dates accordingly branded as 'draft' for now - see facebook - link below.
Uncertainty over international and national policy direction and directives which will seek to protect the health of our communities mean we cannot commit to these draws just yet although with a 'fair wind' maybe we can still work broadly within the dates indicated - comments welcome.
If we suffer further delays it may be that some or all of the rounds will be played at neutral venues and if necessary on specified dates to expedite the progress of these competitions. Unfortunately the Seniors Alliance events scheduled for May have been cancelled.
Lets see what happens - maybe the Golfing Gods will be kind - we will revert with more clarity when we can.
Each of the committee members report that their respective courses are really looking the part now in this glorious spring sunshine, bringing fresh grass, colour and foliage, its so frustrating at times, but we can take heart by reflecting our good fortune to be living in a county which is essentially a golfing paradise....... Hang in and stay safe.........All things must pass.
